Dessert Recipes: OREO BALLS
Oreo Balls are my all time favorite treat!!! They are also a great treat to bring to parties or give as little Christmas gift. Last Christmas I made a bunch of Oreo Balls and brought them to The McIver Christmas gathering. They are so easy and usually everyone loves them! Again, I am not prepared and have zero pictures! Sorry!
OREO BALLS
1 package of Oreos
1 package of 8 oz Cream Cheese softened
1 package of Almond Bark ( you can find this with your chocolate chip morsels. For those who do not know this is just like a big block of white chocolate)
First you need to crush your Oreos...I found the best way to do this is to put 4 at a time in a blender and grind them up. It really crushes the Oreos and eliminates all chunks...the finer the Oreos are crushed up the better! Save a few crumbs for later!
Take your crushed Oreos and mix with your Cream Cheese. This can be pretty tricky with a spoon so I usually use my (clean) hands! Yes you have tons of Oreo mixture all between your fingers but once it is mixed well it is fine!
Take your mixture and roll into 1inch balls. Insert a tooth pick and place on a baking sheet. Once all your Oreo Balls are formed put in the freezer for a couple minutes...this helps hold the tooth pick in and makes it easier to dip in your chocolate.
After about 5-10 minutes take your Oreo Balls out of the freezer and dip into your melted Almond Bark. Follow packaging instructions when melting your Almond Bark. Once you have dipped your Oreo Balls place them back on the baking sheet that has been lined with wax paper! Before your chocolate hardens...sprinkle the top with your extra Oreo crumbs or colorful sprinkles. For Christmas I used red and green sprinkles and I thought it was so cute!
Again, these are so yummy! They almost taste as if you have dipped a regular Oreo in milk! The inside is so moist! Hope you enjoy!!! :)
